UFC 255 Preview and Prediction

Dlo’s Fight Prediction Record 10-2

Deiveson Figueiredo(-333) vs Alex Perez (+250)

What a bummer that Cody “No Love” had to pull out of this fight, as he seems like the one man that can match Figueriedos power and speed. Have we ever seen someone at the Flyweight with the kind of power Figueredo possess? He is a scary scary man and what makes him stand out is his patience in fights. He does not come out guns blazing just looking for the KO, he feels his opponents out and looks to pick his shots. The ease in which we saw him put Joe B down is a bad sign for the rest of the division. The only real way to victory for Perez is to use his low kicks to try and slow Figueiredo down. Even still he doesn’t have the quickest hands and has been finished before most recently by Joe B. There is only 1 bet here and it is on Figueiredo by KO/TKO. His power and precision will be to much for Perez I do not see this getting past the 2nd round.

The Pick: Deiveson Figueiredo KO/TKO round 2

Valentina Shevchenko (-1667) vs Jennifer Maia (+850)

As seen by the line this fight is about as much of a sure thing as you are going to get in an MMA fight. Shevcehnko has some of the best kicks in the game regardless of gender utilizing ax kicks, side switches kicks and crosses like nobody we have ever seen before. The great thing about Shevchenko is that she is not a one trick pony and is excellent on the ground as seen in here beautiful submission win against Julianna Pena, As well as her great throws from the clinch. Valentina is a true surgeon in the cage making opponents miss with her quick movements before firing off counter strkes. While Maia is a perfectly capable fighter against most top fighters in the division. I don’t see here presenting any real problems to Valentnina. Maia is very comfortable on the mat and has some an awkward striking style that has presented problems for other opponents. Valentina isn’t other opponents and I think Maia is in for a long night. Maia is extremely durable, so I expect this to go 5 rounds with the outcome never in questions.

The Pick: Shevchenko UD

Tim Means (+120) vs Mike Perry (-150)

God… I hate Mike Perry that woman beating elderly punching piece of shit. This Dude is literally the biggest turd on the UFC roster, but damn does he have some serious power. This fight is my odds-on favorite to be fight of the night. This pick is going to be my dog pick for the week as I see a very clear path to victory for Means. Perry has always struggled with rangy strikers who can move well laterally which Means can do if he so chooses. If Means can avoid the lunging power shots of Perry he can win this fight but Means last 2 losses give me pause as in both fights he was controlling the fight until eating big shots. He hasn’t been able to string together back to back victories in over 4 years, but I think that changes Saturday. Mike Perry has all the natural ability in the world but for some reason has refused to hone that skill as his power punches are still flat footed, and he has shown no improvements since his debut. His approach remains rudimentary which is a bad thing when facing a fighter with as much experience and octagon time as Means. He will have his girlfriend and long-time friend in his corner Saturday showing once again how much of a fucking moron Mike Perry is. I hope Tim Means kicks the shit out of him so bad he goes into whatever rat hole he came out of.

The Pick: Tim Means UD

Brandon Royval ( +150) vs Brandon Moreno (-190)

This is another scrap I am really looking forward to as Royval is just so damn exciting to watch. He loves to throw flashy strikes and is not scared to get into a fire fight as we saw in his fight with Kai Kara France. Moreno loves to pressure and throw high volume and is a more then competent on the mat. This fight is about as even as they come in my opinion and could go one way or another. This fight could very well escalate in to a 3 round war that takes home fight of the night. The pressure is also on in this fight as it could very well earn a title shot for the winner. If this fight quickly turns in to a fire fight ill put my money in the more creative and powerful of the 2 Royval giving me 2 dog picks this week.

The Pick: Royval by UD (Royval +430 by submission is a great line as well)

Picks Re-Cap:

  • Deiveson Figueiredo KO/TKO round 2
  • Shevchenko UD
  • Tim Means UD
  • Royval by UD (Royval +430 by submission is a great line as well)
